Breakfast Gives Us Power
Three classes from the Polish school: 2b, 3 a and 3 b have joined the
healthy project “Breakfast gives us power” and set up two Breakfasts Clubs. The aims of the project are:
to increase the knowledge about healthy eating and the importance of breakfast in the children’s diet, to lower the level of under nutrition in Poland.
Breakfast is the most important meal during the day. Thanks to it the children have the necessary energy for learning and play. After eating it, they can concentrate better during the classes and are more willing to play after them. During the project the students will:get to know 12 rules of healthy eating,be involved in the discussion about healthy
diet, learn to work in a group and how to solve the
problems.

The Irish school made smoothies for Fruit Week
Ingredients: Strawberries, Orange juice, Natural yoghurt and bananas.
Wash your hands. Get all your ingredients together.
Place all the fruit into the blender. Add two big dessert spoons of yoghurt, add some orange juice. Blend the ingredients. Pour and enjoy!

Our school in Holice, have done a lot of work on healthy eating. The two boys here are showing good food choices from the food pyramid.This work focussed especially on the importance of eating five portions of fruit and vegetables a day.

Last year our students participated in a ministerial project called “Fruit at School”. During the break in the morning they ate fresh fruit rather than the usual packaged snacks.
In addition they had the experience of transplanting the seedlings of some vegetables and fruits.They liked it very much.

The school in Hamburg serves breakfast to their pupils every morning. They have a healthy eating policy and so their pupils get to choose from a wide selection of fruit and vegetables.
