All of our schools have participated in an essay writing competition. The theme of this competition was the role of sport in our lives. Winners were chosen within each school. The entry here is from West Cornforth School in Durham.
There are more entries in this competition to be seen here. We Are Making Christmas Cards
All of the project partners are busy making and sending Christmas cards to each of the school. Here, the boys in the Irish school are putting the finishing touches to their handmade cards. Why don`t you add a comment and say "Happy Christmas" in your own language? "Nollaig Shona Dhaoibh Go Léir!" "Happy Christmas to you all!" All of the teachers in the project gathered in the Czech school for our most recent trip. The children were busy preparing for their school`s Christmas market. They made lots of decorations and sold them later on to their parents and to other visitors in the school. This was just a very small part of what proved to be a most interesting trip to the Czech Republi
On the 28th of May our school went to Bettystown beach for a beach clean-up. Sixth Class and the Comenius Club participated. They found a lot of interesting items on the beach and a lot of rubbish. ~David, Donacarney B.N.S Ireland St George`s Day
We are thinking of our English partners and our Catalonian partners today because today is St. George`s Day. In Catalonia, they celebrate this day by exchanging very special gifts with one another. Ladies receive roses, and men receive gifts of books. This picture shows a scene from Barcelona with lots of bookstalls laid out for St George`s Day. And, of course, St. George is also the patron saint of England. Representatives from each of the schools in our Comenius Project met in Woodslee Primary School, Bromborough, on the Wirral. Woodslee has already achieved a Healthy Schools Award for encouraging healthy lifestyles among its pupils. Their children`s choir has also won awards and thrilled the Comenius partners with their wonderful singing. This picture shows their principal, Mrs Alison Evans, with the Irish contingent, at the school.Click here for a slideshow of the trip to Wirral.
